In an age of email and LinkedIn, networking has never been easier. But networking has also become a dirty word. It means bothering people for favors or having them bother you, and knowing all the time that neither of you has any interest in actually getting to know the other person. Not surprisingly, this kind of transactional networking doesn’t really work.
